DROPOUT DAN- FOREVER, INSTEAD EP 3/5

Under the stage name Dropout Dan, Daniel O’Dell generates a collection of story-telling acoustic tracks. First track ‘Oh, Little Red’ directs the EP towards compelling charm and polished vocals but with a sense of genuineness that every word comes from either life experience or from his heart.

But where Dan really drives towards success is in ‘Puppy Fat’, slamming the acoustic stereotype, he’s far from boring and he’s far from laid back. The guitar rhythm expresses vigor while the lyrics produce nostalgia.  

‘The Sound Of Faking’ is the real jewel in this collection, conveying a sophisticated melody with a clearly underrated talent in the form of his guitar.

Attributes of modesty and humbleness are evident in ‘Sentimental’, there’s just something beautiful that sparks out and it’s that spark that will make Dan stand centre stage in the acoustic world.

Last track ‘Like The Stars’ customs Dan’s unique style to make acoustic music come alive, giving it a voice and the power this genre had always been lacking in one way or another.
